MINOR ORAL PROBLEMS WHICH COULD BE A CLUE TO SOMETHING SEVERE

A visit to your nearest dentist becomes necessary and almost unavoidable when suffering from intense tooth pain or swelling in the mouth. But most people tend to ignore minor signs like bleeding gums or plaque until it progresses to something severe.


In this blog, let's see some minimal signs that your oral cavity is trying to give you , indicating that everything is not alright, and it needs attention.



 

Bleeding gums




It could be due to:

  • Brushing too hard

  • Gum inflammation due to plaque and tartar

  • Gum disease

  • Poor diet

  • Vit C deficiency

  • Pregnancy

  • Medical conditions like liver disease, blood clotting disorders, anemia, leukemia


Bad Breath




Worried about your breath every time you visit your important client?

  • Bad breath could result if you haven't spoken for long hours

  • If your mouth is dry

  • If you have just had a meal with lots of onions and garlic.

  • Dehydration

  • Missing meals

  • Anxiety

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Cracked corners of lips(Angular Cheilitis)


Vit B deficiency could lead to cracked lips and inflammation of the corners of the lips (Angular cheilitis). Other oral symptoms of Vit B deficiency could be inflammation of the tongue, burning sensation, sore tongue, bad breath, and mouth ulcers.


Dental Caries





Vit D helps in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the food we consume. Vit D also increases the production of the antimicrobial protein that fights bacteria causing dental decay. So, a decrease in Vit D increases dental decay.
